Our first parent–teacher interaction of the year saw a record 78 parents attend. It reflects the growing trust we’ve built within the community and parents’ increasing commitment to investing in their children’s future.

It was especially
encouraging to hear from returning parents. One mother attended Jeevan Asha as a child and now brings her own daughter, while another shared that his daughter insists on coming to the Learning Centre even on holidays. A third shared that his 5th-std son, who once struggled to read English, now reads confidently.

At Jeevan Asha, parent–teacher interactions are about far more than just introductions. They are an opportunity to assure every family that they are not alone—we’re here to walk alongside them, offering support and encouragement well beyond the school year.

Held across eight venues, we impacted 637 children through value-based stories, engaging activities, and games.

*Where Parents Are Empowered, Dreams Take Root*

Often, children are not encouraged to dream big simply because finances make those dreams feel out of reach.

That is what we are working to change.

We hosted a session to introduce the postal savings schemes, designed to secure a child’s future.

The response was overwhelming. It was a packed house with 61 parents showing up, eager to engage and take a step forward, many even filling out the forms.

Years of sensitising, equipping, and walking alongside communities are bearing fruit.

Children can only dream within the boundaries they have seen — and when those boundaries widen, their dreams grow too. That’s what we hoped to give our children when we took them on Mumbai Darshan.

As they stood before the grandeur of the Gateway of India, gazed at the stretch of the Queen’s Necklace, marvelled at the engineering brilliance of the Sea Link, among other things, their eyes lit up with wonder. Listening to their teachers share the history of each place, stirred new questions — “Could I build something like this? Could I travel? Could I dream beyond the world I know?”

And in those moments, awe turned into imagination — and imagination into hope.

This truly came alive at our recent Dental Camp in Bhaskar Nagar, where four organisations came together to care for the children of an After Care program. 193 children were checked and given dental kits. We also held an awareness session on oral health.
We’re now working towards helping these children get the treatment they need.

Our very first Parent–Teacher Interaction at Hope Learning Center was a heartwarming start! Parents saw how our preschoolers learn through play, songs, stories, and activities that build values, confidence, and life skills.

Ms. Carol Sylas emphasized the importance of investing in children, drawing from her own life experiences.

We also shared a glimpse of our other initiatives—medical and eye camps, HIV care, government schemes, adult literacy, and more—so families know we’re here to support them beyond the classroom. #jeevanasha

We had a heartwarming meetup with some of our ex-students (Std V onwards) - a time filled with joy, laughter, and a few emotional moments. They shared how their journey with us has inspired and shaped them, and it was wonderful to hear where life has taken them.

Our Chairman, Mr. Basil D’souza, encouraged them to dream big and never give up.

More than a reunion, it was a reaffirmation: that we are still here for them, cheering them on, ready to walk alongside them as they journey forward.
